"Book Group in a Box" was created for reading groups. Each kit is a sturdy plastic box that contains at least 6 copies of the same book.
What titles are available and where are they located?
Click on the links above to see what titles are currently available. Kits are located at the Downtown Library -- third floor for adults and first floor Children's Center for kids and teens.
How do I borrow a "Book Group in Box" kit?
Patrons with a valid library card may check out one kit for a period of 60 days. There are no renewals or holds allowed.
When picking up and returning a kit, please check its contents. The cardholder is responsible for returning it on time and with all of its contents. Be sure group members know they must return their copies of the book to the person responsible, and not directly to the library. Regular overdue fines apply.
Kits must be returned in person to the Downtown Library -- third floor reference desk for adult kits and first floor children's reference desk for kids' and teen kits. Kits may not be returned to Bethel or Sheldon branch. Do not put kits or their contents into the book drop.
How does Eugene Public Library assist community book groups?
Librarians are available to help you select the perfect title, locate discussion guides and find author information. We can also help you find resources for starting and running your reading group. For assistance, please visit or call 541-682-5450.
My book group has books from past discussions that we no longer want. May we donate them?
Yes. The Library would appreciate donations. We would like 10-12 paperbacks in good condition donated at the same time. Please bring them to the Adult or Children's reference desks at the Downtown Library. Eugene Public Library reserves the right to select from these donations for inclusion in the kits.
